I messed around and got my ProMaster XC-M 525CK tripod head bolt stuck/stripped and could not change heads. Wrote ProMaster and asked if I could buy a replacement (just the short top shaft). Received a note this morning that they would just send one out at no cost. I ended up finding a way to get the head removed and let them know. They wrote back and told me they are sending one on Monday anyway "just in case I need it". It hasn't shipped yet, so they could have just not bothered.

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

BTW, total tripod and head weight = 3 pounds 5 oz. Took a bit of legoing, but I'm pretty happy with the weight/performance.

- ProMaster XC-M 525CK tripod
- ProMaster Specialist SPCH20 Cine Head
- ProMaster H30 head QR assembly swapped onto the SPCH20 head. Saved about 3 oz, plus a bit for each QR plate that I carry (binocular mount, Optic, etc.)

New QR Plate left, old QR Plate right.

Cut that big handle off and replace it with an arrow shaft to save another 3oz
I've seen guys cut them shorter. It's removable, so lots of choices. I like lightweight, but it must be stable as well. Otherwise I'd go with a smallwr/lighter tripod.

I cut it about an inch past where it forks to go into the slot on the head, and then epoxied the arrow shaft around that fork so that you can tighten down the angle of the head on the original part and not crush the arrow
