I’ve been a fixed guy for any outdoor adventure but there’s quite a few folding knives catered for hunting. Havalon, Outdoor Edge, classics Buck 110 just to name a few. Is there any benefit to them over a fixed blade or any cons?

My swiss army folding hunter has opened and quartered north of 100 head of game.

I leave some high budget stuff at home to use old reliable.

I prefer my fixed blades, but an edc Griptillian has saved the day when I forget my preferred blade at camp. It did a fine job. Clean up was a bit more involved, but with an old toothbrush, it wasn't terrible.

Folders pack up small, no sheath needed. I just hate cleaning them after working on an animal.

Above posts pretty much cover it. I think knives are like guns. The best one is the one you have with you when you need it.
