Public land to sight in... spokane/post falls/rathdrum

Recently moved out to spokane from seattle, and am looking for a spot to take my 11 yr old shooting, as well as sight in our rifles for hunting season. I don't really want to head to the range because I am cheap... so am looking for a place to go on public land. Message me if you can point me the right direction.

It’s cheaper to go to a range than spending $20 in gas one way to get out to public that it’s legal to shoot on.

Those areas are getting further and further out.
