I am thinking of making a switch this year. I have been using my Cabelas Alaskan pack frame for many years and it has always served me well. However, I do not want to make a empty trip back to the truck anymore to get the pack frame. Especially on day trips.
So you guys running the new style pack systems, (Exo, Badlands, Kirafu, etc). Do you have to bone out the meat for these packs to function properly, or can you haul full quarters? I have been looking at the new Badlands Vario, but I am wondering how well a full quarter would ride in there?

I've put a boned out mule deer in a 22 mag inside a dry bag and zipped it up as well.

The pack systems you mentioned come with meat shelves on the frame itself or, work as a system t create one by detaching the bag and sandwiching the meat between it and the frame. So carrying a bone in quarter is no problem with any size pack bag fro any of the makers
