my poor quiver took a BEATING this year with 16 straight days in the jungle and a few of those being super wet.

I've had a custom knife from yesteryear that has a hardened sheath....water has never even moistened it.....so i get to learning about hardening leather.

Pretty simple task....warm leather. Melt wax. Saturate leather....make sure it's warm enough to not take any more wax.....and done.

All I can say is that all leather goods deserve this treatment if they are going to see weather.

Solid, waterproof and looks like new.....all for about a buck and a half.

Could probably use snowseal. Put quiver in the sun a little bit, then apply snowseal til it won't absorb anymore. Same ideal just don't need to melt the wax. Might not work as well I don't know.

I did that before I went on my hunt. It was ok for a while but softened the leather a bunch.

After waxing it is stiff as a selway.
