You guys that have drop camp bou hunted. Are you getting out and glassing rain sleet and snow. Or do they just lay up in adverse conditions. I know it’s Alaska and you never know just curious of what to expect.

Like most things, there isn't one answer that covers everything...

If you're camping or glassing from high ridges, many times when rain comes in the clouds and fog drop so low that glassing is impossible. If it's a light rain and the clouds don't drop so low, glassing can still be done, and caribou still move in light rains typically.

As for snow and sleet, same thing - if it's not heavy or blowing sideways, they may still be moving. They may still move if it's blowing sideways, but I'm in the tent then waiting for better weather and don't see them doing it. :)

The one thing to remember abut a remote AK hunt - once your clothes get soaked, it can be very difficult to get them dry again. If you opt to glass when it's raining hard, try to shelter under a tarp or something to keep from getting soaked.
