Upgrading my rangefinder this year and need some input. I have access to some Vortex discounts through work, so I've been considering the Ranger 1800 or the Sig Kilo 1600, as the prices are within +/- $50 of each other for what I have access to. Does anyone have any experience with both of these units? I know the Vortex units in general don't get a very good rap on here, so wondering if the Kilo 1600 is the better way to go. Would be used 90% for archery hunting around here and out west.

I had a ranger 1300 that failed the first day I had it, with that being said Vortex send me an 1800. The 1800 works great if it's not flat land or colder than 40 degrees. I noticed once it was colder than that I could range a 100 yds or so. My buddy has a 1300 and the same issues.

After those issues I just bit the bullet and bought a Leica.

I'm sure someone on here has some time with the sig 1600.

I did not like my Sig 1200. I have the Vortex 4000, awesome unit. Used it last year for an elk hunt, heavy snow, cold (0 to 10 F). Worked like a champ!!!!!
