I have only been playing with rangefinders with ballistics capability for the last few years and have not paid attention to what’s out there on the simpler side.

Buddy of mine is a rifle hunter and only shoots inside of 300 yards, so he doesn’t need long ranging. What’s the rokslide pick for a good, reliable, dependable range finder for the avg rifle hunter? Also something that’s not the most expensive, but good value and gets the job done for someone who hunts 1-2 times a year.

The Athlon Midas 1200, which is on sale for only $189.99 is a nice quality unit.
