Rechamber Kimber 7mm-08 to 280ai

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe they’re the same action length. Recently picked up a 7mm-08 Adirondack and contemplated rechambering it to 280ai. Any reason not to?

7mm-08 is a SA. 280AI is a LA just like 270win and 30-06.

I knew that, I must’ve just been confused on their action dimensions. I thought the short actions and long actions were on the same action length like a Tikka but the more reading I’ve done shows Kimber does in fact use true long actions and short actions. Thanks for the help.
