I'm planning to go down to the northeastern part of California to see a friend and hunt coyotes while I'm there, which neither of us have done. If I read and understood correctly I need a license. There is no tag, there is no limit, and it is open year round. E-callers and other calls are allowed, and decoys are allowed. Non-lead ammunition must be used. There is no baiting. Written permission from the landowner is necessary to hunt at night. We most likely won't be out using lights.

Does this sound correct?

Thanks for any input, Graeme

You may be aware of this but make sure you don’t have any lead ammo in possession, like in the truck, when your hunting or its a violation.

Kickemall thanks for the heads up about having lead ammo in the truck, I would not have even thought about leaving some there and it being a problem.
