renting optics

has anyone ever rented optics before? im thinking about renting a swaro spotting scope for 200$ for the week. i just wanna make sure its not a scam or they dont try and say i damaged it and charge me extra money. any thoughts or experiences with this?

Well I could see a place renting out high end stuff that has a no fault warranty, I also can see charging you for a replacement and then having the mfg replace it under warranty if damaged. Also if you lost or didn't return you willl be paying a premium i'm sure. I would just get the best you can afford because you know you will worry about the rental optics while you should only be thinking about hunting. If you borrow something don't you tend to keep better tabs on it and freak if something happens?

Hunthardcore.com rents all kinds of hunting equipment, he goes by outdoorsdan on bowsite.com, he seems to be a very reputable guy.
