Going on two years with these boots. They look new, but I don't have a lot of rocks where I live. And I clean and treat my boots after every trip. Mostly used for backpack csmping/hunts. Carried 30 - 70 pounds.

PROS
- A bargain at $99 ($89 for REI members)

- Excellent fit out of the box with zero break-in required. I wear a size 9.5 in Crispis. Size 10 on all Timberlands works for me.

- Completely waterproof but not hot. Hiked the Chauga Narrows Trail on Thursday post-thunderstorm. Mud, puddles, river rocks and pools. Bone dry socks. Whatever they use for "Timber-Dry Membrane" waterproofing breaths well enough for me. I wear these in our hellish wet and humid summers without getting roasted feet.

- ULTRALIGHT at 2.2 pounds per pair, size 10 (though listed at 3 pounds, I weighed them on two separate accurate scales).

- Super durable so far.

- Good wet traction and traction in general on wet or dry rocks.

CONS
- Funky loooong stock laces. Doubling up on the open lace loops doesn't work. Laces come out. Ankle wrap doesn't work. Laces work their way up above the collar onto your Achilles. Just change them out or double tie loops. That works fine. The lace quality is excellent, just too long.

- "Mid" height is a little low, so strong ankles work best with these boots.

I can't think of any other negatives. I have Crispis and Altra Trail runners, but I reach for these every time. If you want really good waterproof boots at a great price, these fit that description. REI will take returns up to a year!
