Hunter’s 2020 NM buck. Thanks for the contest opportunity. Quality youth packs are hard to find. I debated posting the pic of him packing out the rack and cape on his shoulders but that picture lacks some of the criteria.
This is my 10 year old son Ben in Sept 2020 during Colorado’s second week of archery elk. He found a moose paddle while we were catching brookies in some beaver ponds. His first elk hunt, first horse pack camp, first trout, and he proved himself a great shed hunter too! He’s packing out the moose paddle in the fashion he’d seen our guide carry out our 8x7 bull the day prior.
A great and life forming trip neither of us will ever forget.
2020 was a bit of a downer year, I found out in mid August I had a tumor in my heart. Two months after getting through a risky open heart surgery, my son, Cade, was able to harvest his first big game animal with me by his side.
My son's (13) first elk from early November in Idaho. He got to experience the highs (pictured) and the lows (the midnight pack out the night before in rain and 20-degree temps), and he's ready for more.
