Are the western states that have lots of Grizz as bad as these stats? Gotta feel for the rural villages in Romania that had this large population forced on them.

And according to this article I came across this morning the death tole is now 6 for 2019. The last sentence in the article made me laugh,

'' "Without social acceptance, the species has no future in Romania," he adds.''

How about, ' Without proper management people will be forced to take matters into their own hands and the species will have no future in Romania''.

was bear hunting in Alaska in September and met a Romanian preacher going out to a village. he grew up under communism. we had quite the conversation about that and politics. as commoners we agreed we just wanted to be left alone.

This is a great example of what happens when the bunny huggers get their way.

Romania put a ban on "Trophy hunting".....now they have no management, no funds from hunters too manage...and the bear population is skyrocketing.

The way California has made this work with mountain lions is to hire private houndsmen and keep it hush hush from the general public.....so the anti hunters don't get their panties all bunched up.

Of course this costs us significant tax $$ to the F&G and is cash negative.

They just did the same thing in BC, we already have a current population of 15-30,000. Getting pretty sketchy in these grown in burns!

Yes - am interested in seeing how that all plays out. Have a couple of friends who live and hunt BC, and they were running into grizzlies fairly frequently in the past. I suspect that within a few years, they'll be running into the big bears more often...

Bear populations need to be managed. Hunting works well.
