I used to have a program, until some asshat stole my laptop. Looking for spine and velocity info please.

2016 Hoyt Carbon Defiant 34
68 lb DW
28.5" DL

Arrow 1 - 506gr
Axis 300 - 28" carbon to carbon - 300gr
3 Blazers - 20gr
IW s100 - 102gr
IW collar - 25gr
IW HIT - 50gr
xnock - 9gr

Arrow 2 - 481gr
Same as arrow 1 except 25gr insert instead of 50

Regarding the draw weight. When the bow was new it was maxing out at 72 lbs. I just changed strings, thinking it would go from 68 to 70+, but it did not. I'm hoping, but unsure, if i can tune some more poundage into it??

Thanks in advance!!!

Its probably your Axle to Axle changed dropping your weight.

You are going to want to post the actual arrow length you want for the calculator guys.

FWIW, I shoot a Axis 300 cut 28 1/4" with a 50 gr insert and 150gr BH in a 70# compound 29" DL and it flys great

Do you mean OAL of finished arrow, to include nock and point length? Otherwise, my shaft length is 28".

My ATA measured at 34.25", if that could be the problem.... I also have way too much top cam lean, and top cam hits well before the bottom. That will be for another thread however :)
I started a thread years ago about Hoyt Bow tuning, will have to dust that one off in this case. I just don't do it enough to remember all this shit.

Can anyone give an educated guess on speed? 260-265ish? How much FPS does 25gr impact?

I'm about to just pick one and roll with it. Once i start gluing shit together it is what it is.

5 grs is about 1 fps for a lot of bows. good luck with your decision.

just noticed i used the wrong draw length at first, updated results posted below.

Thank you very much Tim!!

Also tells me, my next bow will likely be a Turbo model.

Thank you very much Tim!!

Also tells me, my next bow will likely be a Turbo model.

Speed is over rated... turbo models are a lot less forgiving.

After trying both out for years I have decided turbos just aren’t worth it.

Currently have a RX1 Ultra and a Nitrum 34. Both flat out shoot.

Turbos I have passed on include Faktor Turbo and Nitrum Turbo. Have shot others as well.

Just my thoughts after shooting Hoyt for the past 15 years.

Would you mind running some numbers for me?

Bowtech realm sr6 (performance setting)
27” DL
74lbs DW
Axis 340 27” (carbon to throat)
75gr brass insert
125gr head
9gr wrap
9gr xnock
24gr 4 vanes

Total arrow weight=501gr.

I was able to get this arrow to tune/group fine after some finagling, but just looking at it seems a bit weak and thought about switching up arrow/components.
