It was a pretty surreal hunt. Had a shot on him opening day that I passed up, super grateful to get another chance.

Heard him bugling, so decided to slip down the hill and come up under him. Super dense coastal Oregon forest, so you can hear them from a ways off if they're moving around.

Ran into a heard of about 20 cows grazing in the woods, and heard him running around harassing cows. Was sitting about 10 yards from the cows, and he came right up to me then turned to his right and gave me a clean broadside look at 19 yards. Double lung, died on the spot in under a min.

Shot at 9am, packed out about a mile and a half by 2pm. Finished butchering him at 3am. Worth every ounce of sweat. Hiked a little over 100 miles this season.

Hoyt CD 75 # draw, 31" DL
31" Easton 4mm FMJ
Kudu point 125gr broadhead

Arrow punched straight through.
