I have a dewalt electric saw that I use on trails. It is mounted on a Forest service pack frame for fire hose. We built a couple shelves to support the saw, gas and oil. It also fits a Stihl 170. The canvas bag protects the saddle from bar oil which can leak.

I have found on the electric that three batteries may occupy your day. I keep a stihl quart gas can filled with bar oil in my saddle bag. As it gets cold change to the winter blend of bar oil.

The pack hangs off the saddle horn on the right side and offsets the weight of my rifle for balance. I cut up a cheap foam saddle blanket to put on the backside of the pack. It limits wear and tear on the pony and if I pull it over my leg it acts as insulation. The lower strap holds the cover for the bar in the bag when I pull off the saw. The upper strap holds the body of the saw (gas or electric) while I'm riding.
