Salomon quest 4d GTX slipping on snow/slush?

Did a little comparison today. Packed out the first half of my elk after a fresh snow in my Solomon's, and slipped and slid all over the place at an almost dangerous level trying to come down the hills. Did the second load wearing my lowa tibets and had significantly less slipping and never felt as though I was going to fall. I guess I will just have to keep the 4D GTX for more fair weather hunts, or explore keeping yaktrax or something similar with me if snow is in the forecast.

I've worn out 8 pairs of 4d GTX and love them in the snow. It could be variation in a batch of sole rubber but all mine have been great.
