Sandhills Nebraska

has anyone done any duck hunting in Nebraska around valentines. There is some good looking waterfowl habitat. Going back up there to hunt muleys and thought about taking the waterfowl stuff.

Do it. I hunt central Nebraska but have always wanted to head up to the sandhills for an early season hunt. Typically the sandhills are pretty good up until they freeze over. There's water everywhere up there this year, scouting to find the x will help, but in June there were some ducks on every piece of water I saw by Valentine. A kayak or canoe would be pretty helpful.

I’ve seen a lot of divers on the sandhill lakes during rifle deer season most years I’ve been out there. You can only duck hunt a few lakes on the NW corner of the refuge and I’ve mostly seen big rafts of ducks on the refuge lakes you couldn’t hunt.

We have took duck hunt gear one year but packing for 2 completely different species on a trip rarely works out.
