I've enjoyed getting to know the .284 Win these past two years but I think I'm ready to move on to my next project. This is the 2nd Savage LW Storm I've barreled in .284 Win. The first was a long action. This one is a short action. You can seat the bullets to 2.980" without issue and they feed fine. This particular barrel is 21" and is a tack driver with 140's. I ran some 145 LRX and 160 Speers through it and they were all under an inch. But it really shines with 140's over IMR 4350 as you can see.

Trigger is crisp and clean at 2.5 lbs. Scope is a nearly new Burris Fullfield II with the ballistic reticle in Talley rings, and the whole thing weighs 7.0 lbs. exactly.

This rifle handles really well and the newly redesigned Savage stocks fit great and soak up recoil like a champ. This gun is very easy on the shoulder and would make a nice elk rifle for a youth, woman or recoil sensitive shooter. You can change the length of pull very easily on these new stocks.

Shipped to your FFL for $600. SPF

Your FFL must be willing to receive a rifle from a private party (done it plenty of times now).

I also have dies and brass to go with this rifle. If you want them we can work something out. I may keep them for a future .284 Win build. Not sure yet.

Thanks!

*** Edit -

Someone just asked what the muzzle diameter is. I didn't think to mention that. I measured .570" at 21", .600 at 20" and .630" at 19"

Hope that helps.

For those that aren't familiar with the .284 Win, think of it as a short action .280ai.
