Been looking at a number of Savages this fall, and these older model Weather Warriors seem to jump out to me. Anybody have a lot of experience they would be willing to share, both good or bad? Looking specifically in the 6.5 Creedmoor, .308, or .243 caliber range if that helps.
Thanks

I have an older one that had fluted barrel and muzzle brake in 300WM. I can group 5-shots with 200 gr AB into a quarter.

I did put mine in a Bell and Carlson stock, good guns.
What model Bell and Carlson did you end up using?

Berger makes a new 156gr 6.5 round that thumps. I like that 6.5 round because you can go down to 100gr in the 243 range and all the way up to 156gr with the Berger Elite Hunter round. I think the 6.5 would cover everything.

That is kinda what I was thinking as well. Having a little trouble finding a Weather Warrior in 6.5CM, found one in .308 that would probably fill my needs as well.

The Hornady ELDX operates very similar to the Berger and they make that round in the 308. If you look at the ballistics though that Berger 156gr in 6.5 is a monster. That Berger factory 156gr has a G1 BC of 0.679. If you want to be able to kill stuff at 3-400 yeards the 6.5 is a much better round imo. The 308 is heavier and thumps harder at close ranges. Midway sells that 6.5 for $35 a box so I don't have to mess with reloading.

My oldest grandson has a Weather Warrior in 260 Remington and it has been awesome. He has killed many Whitetails with it. It loved the Remington Accu-Tips until they quit making them. Now shooting the Barnes Vor-Tx 120 grains. He killed a nice 6 point Sunday afternoon with it. DRT

I had one in 7 mm mag. Fluted varmint barrel , and muzzlebreak. Had a good trigger. If I remember correctly it was adjustable. I liked it better than the accu trigger. Most accurate gun I've ever shot. Only reason I sold it was the caliber. I would buy one again

If you like the Weather Warrior, look at the new iteration: 110 Storm. I picked one up in 6.5 CM for practice. It shoots both commercial 143 gr ELD-X (2726 fps) and the 147 gr ELD-M (2685) well under sub-MOA.

I have looked into the storm, and can find it in 6.5 Creedmoor, but... I just am not a fan of how the Accu-stock looks on those 110 Storms. But if I continue to strike out in my search for a Weather Warrior in 6.5CM than I may end up going the 110 Storm route and possibly looking Into replacing the stock.
