Man I miss that water, I spent about three years in the area. You might not find a moose but it's not to hard to find a bear or two on the range.

Is this an inside joke I’m not getting?

That looks like a southeast coastal area…backside of an island. There’s a Doppler radar, cell tower, and maybe some houses in the background.

Was just messing around. Was top of a sand dune. Had some moose like attributes to it and I officially have nothing but moose on the brain these days. Spent a few minutes there looking down and envisioning a big bull making his way through the view below.

Found a few sea critters down here over the weekend which we’ll happily have join us for dinner! Have had this boat a little over a year and have just about worked out all the kinks. Been a bit of a disaster but I’m just about down to strictly maintenance and elected upgrades that can take place on my schedule. 8604E5E5-3E91-4851-B786-1E1753B16CAD.jpeg78CD71C0-5C2B-44E8-A0FC-1388576EF342.jpeg01E0DDE1-C26B-4F8E-9A76-5118D617FB55.jpeg9F09D22D-770D-491F-A54B-C6B26F87A44A.jpeg61A5FCAB-4067-40E9-BA58-6CB4F09C03CF.jpeg996E0CAD-C4B4-414B-9CDC-CD7DB9339A20.jpegB0199437-9ECF-4F11-842A-A49254DEBD46.jpeg02D0CB05-1544-4C30-95D9-5C91840BEF9F.jpegF97FDC05-6352-4693-B304-1A743F4204D0.jpeg083D703B-6D91-4FC0-8CE6-4045D6598BA3.jpeg

Those red grouper and that monster mangrove is where its at, as far as dinner is concerned. What hull/year is that, one heck of a back deck you have on it!

I'm jealous of that fish box as well, to be able to throw 6 donkey aj's into it and not be cramped for space is saying something.

Thanks!

It’s a 42 Wesmac with a 3’ deck extension that’s bolted in. Waterline and running surface unchanged from 42 mold. Hull was laid up in 2001 / 2002. First home was actually NW Florida, then she went to Maine. Spent bulk of life there commercial fishing with some time off mid Atlantic. Was in acceptable shape at time of purchase but she’d been fished pretty hard. Still lots of cosmetic stuff to do but all the major required items have been addressed. Doesn’t have quite the speed or fuel economy I was hoping for, but there’s no such thing as the perfect boat. Unfortunately I’m certain we bought at the peak of the market but after two years of looking, and lots of trips up and down east coast, this one checked most of the boxes…. Even if she was a little rough around the edges.

Well, you have her looking like a million bucks now. How do you like that seadek? Do you know anyone that's had it for a few years? I'm curious as to how it will hold up. I'll be moving to Hawaii next month for a three year visit and you might have just convinced me to get back into the market.

She looks better in pictures than in person, but thanks. The Seadek is all right. It’s comfortable and provides great traction. Getting blood off can be a challenge if you don’t hit it immediately. This stuff has been down for 3 years. Came with boat. I’d have preferred a rolled non skid but whatever. Boat did a few seasons of the tuna TV show so it had a bunch of give-away sponsor stuff on it. Some nice items, some I’d do without. In summation…. Would i personally put it on a boat? Probably not, but I’d consider it. Do I dislike it Enough to rip it up? Nope.

Tastes good to finally have a boat running again.

Grouper Piccata and amberjack parm. Heavy on the pasta and same look, I know. Two way different dishes, though.

The yard produced quite well today. Gardens coming in nicely.

Just to keep it random. F87677D3-0DC7-43C5-8051-17EAD9C0B45E.jpeg No hard feelings if it needs deleting.

Managed to find a few fish yesterday and boat did great. Other than an over heating generator and auto pilot that decided to go completely squirrely on me.

I expected a better class of snapper and a few more grouper considering the distance I ran, but still not bad for a day trip and for an area I haven’t fished in 4 years while being boatless / working on this boat.

Went ahead and put the hurt on a few more yesterday. Fuel up was painful, but I don’t plan on changing my therapy any time soon! LGB! Too bad boy can’t get new shoes this year.

No monsters but 3 quality snapper up to 20#, I’d guess. Rest of snapper limit, 8 or 9 red grouper, couple gags, 15 or so mangroves Lots of almaco and rudder fish. Dad pulled the biggest snapper of the day… good Fathers Day trip.
