Schnee's Beartooth QC Issues?

I got a pair of Beartooth's during their sale last week and while I really like the fit, the closer I look at the boots, the more imperfections I find. There are marks on the leather, the rubber skirt going over the last is not uniform so you can see where they primed the leather for vulcanization, the toe on one boot is not "uniform" where it looks knobbly and there are small voids in the outsole. Is this normal for a pair of Schnee's? Would you send them back or keep them? When I got my pair of Lowa's they were cosmetically perfect. I haven't contacted Schnee's yet about this.

Whoa! I can honestly say I've never looked that closely at a pair of boots! If you're happy with the fit, I'd say move on and wear them. Those imperfections shouldn't affect the performance at all.

I normally don't, but I saw one the voids on the outsole (which I've never seen on even a $100 pair of boots) and it kind of became a rabbit hole.

I’m sure from my experience Schnees will take care of you now or later. Personally I like knowing they got the glue all the way up the rand or out the top a little. Thinking back on my pairs I think that’s what the rand started to look like after I wore them for short periods of time and they broke in slightly at the rand. Basically they took a pair of boots back after a year of use when I was fit a little tight in the store, gave me a gift card for the purchase amount since the new line boots were delayed a bit. Following summer 12 months after gift card they let me use a discount on the new model boot in correct size. Curt the manager will make sure you are happy. They fixed one spot my rand peeled away a little since then. Look around and all rands are prone to lift at the top edge. Ross Russell in one of his reviews on here had goo all over the top edge of the rand on a new pair so I asked why. Essentially his experience is just about all rands will separate at the top edge regardless of brand at some point. He’s being proactive about it instead of reactive.

I agree about the attention to detail with a boot at that price point. Mine have a lot of what your talking about, but they've been holding up just fine.
The fit and finish is not inline with the price point.

Thanks! You finally answered my question. I don't really care if the boot has imperfections (function before form) if that's normal for the boot, but I'd never seen anything like it for the price point.

I bought mine last week also, mine don't look anything like yours at all I see no issues like what you're seeing on yours.

These defiantly look like a "friday" boot. The rand wouldnt bother me, that doesnt look too bad. Same with air pockets in the sole. No impact on longevity.

That toe though, that looks terrible. I would return for sure, those should have never left the factory.

I called Schnee's again after reading Clockwork and Wildcat33's comments and talked to Kurt and I'll l all I can really say is wow, they have a lifelong customer in me (if the boots fit well). They're going to let me exchange my boots at no cost when the next shipment comes in at the end of the month. Top notch.

I bought a pair of kenetrecks last fall and I hate them. Really wish I knew about this boot.

I bought a pair of kenetreks on the recommendation from a family friend, walked a mile in them and they hurt like crazy so I returned them. I'm still on the hunt for a good pair of boots so I hope these Beartooths fit the bill.

Anyone have an email for an actual human at Schnee’s?
I submitted an email through their website last week and never heard back. Left a message with a gal I talked to on the phone on Monday who was supposed to relay the message to someone in warranty/customer service but still haven’t heard from anyone there either. Having some leaking issues with my Beartooth’s that I would like to get resolved.

Ended up sending me a label, sent the boots in, they tested them and concluded that they definitely leak, new pair in the mail to me now. +10 points for Schnee's. Hope they work out because they are super comfortable.

I sent mine back and Kurt just texted me a few days ago that my new boots are on the way. They have great CS.
