Just ordered a Tikka T3x Lite SS in 6.5 Creedmoor at Eurooptics.com. they had a great deal on a demo model. I am looking for suggestions on scope mounting. I am think 0 MOA picatinny rail and maybe vortex pro mounts. the optic I will be putting on the rifle is Vortex Viper HS 4-16x44.
Is a low rail (0.9") too low?

I am open to suggestions on everything minus the gun, that's in the mail to my FFL.

Same model gun, and same model scope. I went with the sportsmatch Tikka rings in low (T084) - think they were ~$60 on ebay.

I just picked up the same gun, I'm going with Hawkins Precision Hybrid rings. Eliminates the need for a rail and they have 25 moa built in, not sure if that's a deal breaker. Went with those due to their good reputation on this forum. I've also heard lots of great stuff about the Sportsmatch rings.

Another vote for the Sportsmatch rings. I like keeping my scopes as low as possible so I really like the idea of just the rings without the need for a rail. This is a 10x42 scope in lows, should work for your scope depending on how the front scope bell is shapd on your scope - think it might work??

Talley Low 2 Piece or the DNZ Hunt Masters I have on my T3 -30-06. If you need MOA. I'm a big fan of Picatinny bases and rings set up so you can use the glass on multiple rigs. I put that on my T3X 300 WIN mag with a Zeiss Z4 Glass. Let me know if you want pics.

Sportsmatch is going to be the general consensus you will find on here. Talley makes some direct mounts that we have had good luck with.

I am looking at the Talley's. Medium or low? Considering my scope is Vortex Viper HS 4-16x44

I use the Warne Tikka mounts for my 2 Tikkas and haven't had a problem. They are steel tho so not sure if you're trying to keep the ultralight theme or not, but they are super durable. 0 MOA too

Sportsmatch or some 16Bore Modified Talleys, if you can find them. Whittaker’s might still have some.

You and another guy posted pics with fluted barrels. Any reason other than weight savings you did this? I am assuming that was a mod.

Actually thats just a Tikka Superlite, basically a T3/T3x that is made for Sportsman's Warehouse if in a black stock and Cabelas in a camo stock. They are maybe a bit lighter weight over a regular T3 but really the flutes are just for bling:D

You could probably get that scope into the Extra Low's if you wanted. If you have solid cheek weld and eye alignment though, keep it as is. I almost always try to get my scopes as low as possible as I get a more consistent natural alignment with my eye.
