There's a trail in one of the places I hunt, but it sure wouldn't be there if someone would stop going up with a chainsaw every year and clearing it.

Yep. This is one of the few places with no cattle grazing.
No cattle/no cowboys=No trail maintenance

I was surprised at the lack of much elk sign. That place really had a bunch in there before. Probably just didn’t hit the right drainage.

If I go back up there, I will take a chainsaw. The road in is littered with dead standing timber that frequently needs cleared. It would stink to get up there and have the road blocked on the way out.
