SD card issue

Hey everyone, so I just bought a new 8gb SD card and tried to use it in my Bushnell game camera. The issue is that every time I put it in the camera and try to set the settings, the screen would go blank. I switch to my old SD card and the camera works fine. Any thoughts?

Make sure every SD card is formatted prior to putting it in the camera.

Make sure the card isn't locked.

Use SD card brands that the camera manufacturer recommends. Not all brands are compatible with all cameras. As a generalization, Sandisk or an SD rebranded by the camera company is a good place to start.

I’m pretty sure one of my game cams required me to format the sd card in the game camera. You might check this out in your game cams instructions

Thanks everyone for the tips. I tried to reformat the ad card and it didn't work. I can't even reformat in my camera since it doesn't show up on the camera. I didn't know since I have an older camera that the newer as cards don't work.

Some cameras may have a limit on GB size. Possibly try smaller GB size?

This is a good possibility. If I recall correctly some cams in the not too distant past had max SD card capabilities of 4 or 8 GB.
