SE Montana

Looking to hunt SE Montana this year. I only have one week of vacation. Nov. 11-17. Looking at unit 705. Any suggestions or advise on this area.

The Winter of 2010/2011 was really hard on the Mule deer in eastern Montana. Last year we hunted around Jorden, Brodus, and Ekalaka and deer numbers were way down. The deer should be rutting when you are the there. Good luck!

coalstrip area. huge deer but tough to gain access to land. somethin in the water down there makes em freaky big on the mine property.worth a try.

I talked to the FWP biologist last fall about the deer numbers there and he advised that they are down in all of region 7.

I hunted the SE corner last year and didn't see a drop in deer numbers, actually thought the hunting was better last year than the year before.
