Looks like the spark arrestor has larger holes than the previous design. I imagine that helps prevent the build up problems they were having with the old design, but I wonder if it reduces effectiveness. Modified damper design is a huge improvement though.

So we've been working on this for a while. This design fixes several problems:

1. Damper not staying put where you want it. This could be resolved by several means, but it was an issue.
2. Spark arrestor clogging. You'd have to wait till stove cooled, disassemble, clean, reassemble, restart stove. Now just dump the creosote a couple times while burning.

It works well.

I have the older version of the ultra spark arrestor (I forget what it was called) which is the one with the larger holes without the current damper. It worked well for me. I upgraded after having lots of creosote issues with the original damper. This looks like a great upgrade and eventually i'll get this one as well.

These are nice, used mine for the first thime last week and it is an improvement.
