Trying to decide between the Silvertip and Cimmaron. Looking for information in regards of the space in the silvertip with a stove. I will be hunting solo. Is the cimmaron worth the extra weight when it comes to its interior space or Silvertip interior space roomy enough for one and a stove. Any other pros and cons on experience with either would be appreciated.
Thanks

I don’t think the silvertip has room for a stove. The only sitting area is right up against the pole and the stove would be right on the other side. I love my silvertip for what it is but not a hot tent. Cimarron gets my vote.

You could give them a call tomorrow, they're very helpful and are active on here as well. I have never seen a silvertip in person to compare unfortunately, but i do have a cimarron lite and a silex and have used both with a stove in them. My vote goes to a cimarron or cimarron lite unless the weight is a huge concern and you 100% will never have anyone else or even a big dog in your tent with the stove. If weight is such a big deal, you could've ordered a dyneema cimarron while they had them a couple days ago.. i ordered one lol, so my cimarron lite and probably my silex too will be for sale shortly by the way. If you're set on buying a brand new silnylon cimarron, they have a 10% off code for them and select accessories that works through the 17th, code is CIMARRON10. Otherwise the code GRITTY should get you 5% off all the stuff they make themselves including the silvertip, i assume

Calling SO is a great idea, but if you might ever have an extra person in addition your stove, I'd go Cimarron.

As stated, the cimarron is more versatile but the ST is lighter. Personally I would probably opt for a Silex or the upcoming Guardian for a ultralight solo hot tent, and then jump to the Cimarron if you ever need two people to fit.

If you’re packing in deep wile being solo, the Cimarron + stove is a lot of weight and bulk for one. If you’re planning on carrying a rifle, tripod, and spotter scope, the cumulative amount of gear is over-the-top for one. I’ve done it and it’s a shocking amount of gear for 1 person. I don’t mind the Cimarron for one at all if I’m not carrying a rifle (scouting) or I’m not carrying a tripod and spotter, but all 3 is too much for more than a moderate pack in solo.
Split between 2 people is reasonable.

Go the cimarron lite….my take having owned the dcf, lite and silvertip….silvertip pitch not as easy good single unit, that being said cimarron so versatile super easy pitch and with the lite almost same weight as silvertip….silvertip big enough for stove and dcf awesome but you cringe when gets hole in it…setup is so simple with cimarron and versatile for two and palace for one you won’t regret it🤙

Ross do you use the liner for condensation?

@324matt no liner here running the stove has taken care of any condensation issues to dry walls quickly along with quality bag use never had a big issue or need for one…yes things touching the walls can get a little damp but has been of little concern with use of stove….if no stove use would be likely something I would consider

What size stove do you recommend? I was looking at both the medium and large stoves from seek outside. Leaning towards the large but just seeing if anyone had experience with medium.

@Hofhunter having started with a small kifaru box stove quickly learned you want sufficient stove volume to not feed every 2 minutes and for some larger wood…I’m running the 18 inch lite outdoors cylinder and picked up the winner well last fall as second option….would recommend stoves of something similar to these two sizes as they both give you sufficient burn 🔥 time and some decent sized pieces of wood…advantages and disadvantages to all lite weight stoves just pick the one that offers more pluses for you🤙 also pizza never tasted so good as after a long day of spring hiking🥰

I’ve got a silver tip, although I’ve never tan my stove in there it does work, I’ve also slept in my silver tip with a lightweight cot. Could fit two in.
