Im self employed in CA, but company is domiciled out of NV. Start your business as a c-corp if you want to be able to write off your family’s health insurance. Nice to have that option. Tons of benefits including other write-offs and scheduling your free time. I take 2-3, week long hunting trips a year, and can write them off if clients are involved as a “marketing expense”. Wrote off my truck too of course. If you have the skills and confidence, do it.

Thanks again to all of you for all the advice and suggestions so far. It will be a big step when I take it but I feel its something I can accomplish. I just dont want to wake up and be 50 something punching a time clock for some ungrateful jerk thinking man, should have done it. Lifes too short to be stuck in a miserable job.
