I’m been doing a lot of reading and I’m looking for a new pack. I know there’s a ton of good packs out there and you all have your favorites and I get that but I’m looking for feedback from guys who have used the Selway to pack meat and hunted from this pack for a couple days. I’m not looking for a pack to hunt 7-10 days and in my experiences with other packs I’m not real fond of a ton of pockets. I get the need for organization but for me I find myself opening every pocket to find what I’m after. That being said once I seen the Selway I thought it might be just what I’m after but I’d like to get some first hand feed back. Thanks Guys!

I love my Selway 60. It is my go to pack. I have used it for two season now and it is by far my favorite pack. I use it more as a day pack but early season there is no reason you couldn’t do a couple nights out of it. I packed several animals with it this year. I posted a couple photos of a couple of the pack outs. One is a wolf whole, another in my wyoming archery bull. I would say you will not be disappointed.

It's a great pack. Mine has the guidelite MT frame. I helped pack out two bulls and my buck last fall and I can say it's very comfortable loaded heavy. You'll like it.

I have the Selway on the Guilde Light and love it. Haven't done any long pack trips, just one night. Have packed out critters but it's my first load shelf pack so can't compare it to others, but it worked great for me.

My reasoning for the Selway was a bigger daypack to use everyday and that works fine on 3 - 5 days at the most, so i only need to have one pack vs. moving my shite from one to another. Soooooo easy to put pockets on the sides and back, sleeping bag on the bottom for longer trips. I took an old Dana Design hipsack, put on some 1" SR repair buckles and it works as a lid. I used it today and it fits puffy coat and pants, micro stove for morning coffee and other wintery stuff just fine.

Awesome pack

Got a pic of the mod.

Carr5vols, hope this works, first time posting pictures. I added male and female repair buckles to the ancient hip sack and to the Selway. Used my hacksaw gingerly to create "repair buckle" slice in the back bar on one set. Threaded some silver webbing on part of the hip sack for buckle connections.

The hipsack sits almost like a real pack lid when it's all tightened down. Put a tent on one side or back, sleeping bag on the bottom, sleeping pad anywhere and, voila, it's a Selway Plus Size, good for a few more days in the woods.

Hope this helps.

I've used mine for 1 season and I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the MR lineup. It is the the lightest GL frame pack and still lighter than the pop-up 38. I prefer fewer pockets, and you can unzip it down the middle and have wide open access to the contents of the bag. Load-hauling is good, I practiced with 100 lbs in sandbags and hauled out my wife's bull (~70-80/load) out of a canyon and did pretty decent. It's not a 7-10 day pack esp. with hunting gear but you could always slip a dry bag in the load shelf
