This rifle has been sitting in the safe for over 2 years not fired, its time to move it on. It’s a semi-custom 7mm Rem Mag on a Bighorn SR3 action. The barreled action was ordered and all chambering work was done by Brimstone Gunsmithing. I bought the AG composites stock and bedded the action myself. Its not professional but its pretty clean.
Rifle Specs are:
Action – Bighorn/Zermatt SR3 LA, Spiral Bolt, standard feed lips, trim tang, DLC coated
Barrel – Helix 6 Precision, 26”, 1-8” twist, 3 port brake, 7 mm Rem Mag
Trigger – Trigger Tech Special
BDL – Hawkins Oberndorf BDL
Stock – AG composites Carbon All Terrain (CAT), bedded. I ordered this stock without the raised cheek piece when it was still called the CAT stock. I believe that is now called the Sportsman.
Rings – Hawkins long range Hybrids 30mm low, epoxied onto receiver, 20 moa rail also included
Extras – Bighorn action wrench and standard bolt face also included.
Weight – 7 lb 9oz as is
Overall its in pretty good condition. The bolt has some “spotting” discoloration on it, nothing major. The stock has some scratches here and there and a chip in the paint by the safety lever. I also had to relieve the bolt handle area in the stock and never repainted it. Never bothered me because you can’t see it unless the bolt is open, but easy to paint over. The bottom edge of the trigger guard has a few light marks, most likely from living in the safe.
I mostly shot factory ammo though it. Multiple groups under 1 moa. I did very brief load development with 160 gr partitions and shot sub 1/2 MOA. I loaded some 175 ELDx to test with the faster twist but never got around to it. My notes put round count right around 80.
I’ll ship it in a plastic hard case. Comes with bighorn action wrench and a standard bolt head as well in case you want to switch cartridges ever. The Hawkins hybrid rings are epoxied in place to ensure no movement. The 20 moa rail will also be included incase you want to throw that on. I also have a set of dies and limited brass if your interested.
