Hey guys wanted to get your input on broadheads for mule deer. I'm set on the sevr broadheads. Just wondering which size yall would recommend for mule deer. I've watched lusk archery's reviews and he really liked the 1.5 and he recently did a positive review on the new 2.0's. If I was hunting elk it would be a no brainer and I would get the 1.5s but with mule deer I'm not sure...

What’s your setup? A no brainer for one person might be a “brainer” for another. I’m using 2.0 for elk but I’ve got some beef behind it.

Here's my setup:

Elite Synergy 70 lb 28"
100 grain head
50 grain brass insert
Easton Axis 300's

Arrow weight equals about 500 grains and according to the sight tape that fit my bow best I should be at about 265 fps...

Thanks!

I have almost exact same setup and I bought 1.5 sevr last year. If I was gonna buy some this year it would be the 2.0 all day long.

2.0 all day long.

Thanks! Although I'm unfortunately not bowhunting elk this year, I'm hoping I'll have an elk bowhunt lined up next year. Would you recommend the 2.0's for elk with my setup next year as well?

That’s up for debate. I’m shooting a 560 grain arrow at 277 which gives me a lot of confidence in the 2.0. Also, mine weren’t super sharp out of the package so I’d recommend stropping them.

2.0 no doubt. Either will do the job well enough but if you can get away with the extra .5" of cutting diameter, why not?

I shoot a 432gr setup with 100gr sevrs. Haven't tried the 2.0 but the 2.1, 1.7 and 1.5 have all worked flawlessly for me. If I didn't have everything ready to rock and roll for elk this year with the 1.5, I'd be giving the 2.0 a really hard look.

I've personally watched 3 elk go down with the 2.0.

I’m trying 2.0s for whitetail, and anything smaller than an elk. I have a similar setup, 65 lbs. 29” Elite Option 6. I’m building a .300 spine GT Airstrike with 72 grain SS insert, theoretically a 475 grain arrow at 285 fps. Real world I expect a little heavier and a little slower.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like 2.0 for mule deer and perhaps 2.0 for elk as well with my setup. Maybe I'll pick up some 2.0s right now and if I'm lucky enough to have an archery elk tag next year I'll think about picking up some 1.5s
