Sorry for the long post. I need to get more arrows. I'm currently shooting a 2016 Carbon Defiant 34 set at 65# with 28" draw. My current arrows are 29" FMJ 400 with a wrap and 3 Blazer vanes tipped with 100gr Grim Reapers. When I bought my bow last summer, I found out that I had been shooting with too long of a draw length (29") with my old bow. When I purchased the bow I was too lazy/tight to change my arrows. My current arrows shoot ok, but I was wondering if it would benefit me by changing to a 340 spine and 27.5" or 28" length? If I'm reading Easton's charts correctly, it looks like I might be borderline between the 340's and 400's. Thanks in advance for the help!

Having arrows an inch longer than your DL is a good idea. You don't want to cut your fingers.

This is 29" arrows with 29" DL

I would let broadhead flight determine if you need to increase spine.

I am shooting a 2017 CD 34 at 66.5 lbs with 28 draw. I have 300 spine BE rampages cut to 28 inch shaft length with 75 grain HIT inserts and 100 grain tips. These tuned much better than 350 grain rampages with 50 grain HITs and the same cut/tips.

Not to argue and I'm no expert, but your draw length looks like is either longer than 29 or your arrows are shorter than 29 inches. Draw length is measured at 1.75 inches in front of the pivot point, which on the bows I've measured puts it out in front of the shelf. I've never looked at Elites though...If I am wrong I apologize for muddying the waters.

When in doubt (or on the border) go heavier. I find that it is much easier to tune with a heavier arrow than with a lighter one.
I shoot 60#'s @ 28.5" draw and shoot 340 Easton Axis or ACC's with a 100 grain fixed blade head and have been very successful with them.

I know the arrows were dead on at 29. That bow is an Energy 32 with the #3 cams (supposed to be 29"), but I think I backed the stops off a little, so it could have been 29.25". Elite handles aren't very deep.

The stickout is similar with my Nitrum Turbo.

Cool, not trying to be a know-it-all or jerk, just curious. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about this stuff myself. The learning curve is immense. Thanks for helping.

Im shooting a '16 Defiant 30 with a 28.5" draw and around 65lbs. Right now im shooting 350 spine Black Eagle Deep impacts. I typically have more luck with the stiffer spine if im close to 2 spine options. 440 grain arrow for my setup.

Just had this exact arrow setup put together for a 70 lb halon 32. Looking forward to trying them.
