For those of you not attending virtual sheep week make sure you check out the state chapters raffles. There are some great sheep hunts being raffles off for $100 a ticket with most being limited to 500-600 tickets. Idaho WSF is doing an Ultima Thule Dall sheep hunt this year with 600 tickets at $100 each. Probably the best sheep hunt in Alaska!
Check it out!

Best chance at a truly giant Dall Ram you can find anywhere. Don runs a tight ship. And definitely some gorgeous country. I’m already in for several but I may very well buy a few more....

Did you also see Oregon FNAWS raffle for a goat/griz with Don?! I’m in for both!

In 2019 I won the <1 club drawing. since then, I've put in for, and kept track of just about every sheep draw and raffle I can find. Here's what I got for now:

1. The Wild Sheep Foundation online super raffle. tickets are $100 for a tricked out land rover defender, or an Altai Argali hunt.

2. Stated above, but worth repeating: Idaho WSF has a raffle for a desert sheep and a stone sheep for $100, and $200. These tickets are sold out, unless you go to the annual fundraiser banquet, which I highly recommend. They will have another 100 desert tickets to be sold at the event. You can also win a dall hunt as a life member, or a rocky hunt in the state raffle.

3. The Western Hunting & Conservation Expo has what's called "Sheep Camp" this year. In total, there are 13 different sheep hunts you can enter to win. if you're attending the show, some odds are higher, and you can also enter for some utah sheep tags through the $5 permit raffle.

4. Montana WSF has a desert sheep raffle for $200. They also give away a sheep hunt to life member in attendance at the banquet, which I would also highly recommend.

5. California WSF has a stone raffle for $100. They also give away a sheep hunt to life members in attendance at the banquet. Again, highly recommend.

6. Not a sheep, but the Eastern Chapter WSF is raffling a spanish ibex grand slam for $200. They also have the Wyoming Governors tag for $500.

7. SCI Alaska is raffling off the Alaska Chugatch Governors tag for $100.

8. Oregon WSF is raffling off a dall sheep hunt for $100.

9. Alasksa WSF is raffling off a Desert Sheep hunt for $200.

10. Rocky Mountain Bighorn Society is raffling off a Colorado bighorn tag for $25. They also have goat and pronghorn raffles.

11. Midwest Chapter WSF has a Stone Sheep hunt they're raffling off for $100. They also have a NM Elk hunt, and an Alberta Moose hunt raffle.

12. If you are in Canada, WSF BC, WSF AB, and WSF Yukon usually have some good raffles, but I believe you have to be in those particular states at the time of purchase. It would be a bummer to win, and then have to forfeit it since you didn't follow the rules... I'm not sure how that works though.

That's all I know of for now. It's a lot of money to put for all of them, but it's all well spent conservation dollars. The people that run these organizations are great people and use the money well.

There's also the gohunt, super slam drawings, etc... Never been a fan of those. Your odds are usually really bad, and they can be expensive. Also, they money doesn't necessarily go back into conservation like the raffles listed above.

Sorry for such a long post, but hope this helps.

I posted this in another thread, but people should be aware of the Sheep Camp eligibility rules, which you have to make the effort to research. I can't imagine how many people are pumping money into this that are not reading the fine print, which is hidden from view. Only when scrolling to the very bottom of the page to you see a link that says "

Need more information? Please check out our FAQs and Official Rules"

https://sheepcamp.net/sheep-camp-rules/

For this one:
MT law prohibits sale of raffle tickets with credit cards. Online orders can only be placed with debit cards. Ticket stubs will not be mailed out for online sales. Raffle tickets will be available at the banquet for cash and check. Please do not purchase if online raffle sales are prohibited in your state (AL, CA, HI, IN, KS, SD, UT, WA).

Interesting how different raffles blackball different states....you would think it would be the same for all of them.....

Correct, but this is not an issue with sheep camp rules or the raffles themselves blackballing states. It is more the individual state laws. In Florida for example, a raffle is considered a form of gambling, and is prohibited by law. Hence, why Florida residents are ineligible for online raffles. If you look at most of these links, they all say something similar in the fine print.

Montana state law prohibits credit cards for raffle sales no matter the raffle or organization. It is simply the variation of laws in each state and providence.

Not true on both counts. Florida is only blackballed on sheep camp and huntinfool giveaways. Guess you have never been to the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa, FL?

Montana just took my credit card

That is because Florida has an exemption for 501(c)(3) organizations, which sheep camp, and hunting fool are not.

And yes, credit cards are prohibited by law for raffle sales in Montana, but it looks like they have a similar exemption for nonprofits. Perhaps that's why you were able to use a credit card.

Just know your local laws and it's not a problem.

I was there and am jealous! Congrats and I hope you have a great hunt! Do you know who the outfitter is? I can’t remember if they announced who the winner of the heads tails game was going with for the dall hunt.
