I was curious about success rates on bighorn sheep(both ewes and rams) in Colorado. Looked it up and last year the archery success was 40% and the rifle success was 66%. Pretty high really.

I'd be curious about success rates on Stones and Dalls either guided or unguided. Any input from Alaska or Canada would be welcomed.

Dalls are harder to find in AK or at least legal rams per 100 hunters. No idea re Stones. I was told the hardest part of killing a bighorn was drawing the tag. That was the case for the ewe I popped in CO.

In Alberta, there are about 2500-2800
resident ram tags sold every year and about 125-140 rams registered. So about 4-5% success but not sure how many of those tags put in a “true” week long hunt at least.

I live in Washington which is one of the toughest states to draw a sheep tag. Having said that, I am guessing the success rate is over 90%.
