Only shelter of this type for me has been the SO BCS-2. Seek Outside Quality, very similar to the LBO+ Vestibule, with Two doors on either side of the stove jack and center pole. Has slightly more height than the LBO that might be better for your 6' 2" frame. Might be able to locate one on this site. The hot tent feature will add versatility, and might justify the slight weight penalty over your other candidates. This will be a place for one. Great shelter for a man + wife, older child, dog.

I'm leaning towards the Silex after talking with @Kevin_t and @RockChucker30. They are pretty confident I'll fit easily in it.
I also like the idea of being able to reach everything easily from the sleeping location. If I am wrong I'll have a Silex in the classifieds I guess!

I'm resurrecting this post. As I bought an LBO with vestibule and tried it out after Christmas in the cold (13* F). My winter bag is 6'6" and very lofty I put it on top of an Exped UL long wide. I was touching at the head and foot. I got snow overnight and the top of the bag was wet (should have pitched it higher). I tried to run my bag the long way with the head in the vestibule and the foot in the base, but the side wall was touching and I felt like I was way too close to the stove.
Stove is an SXL.

Any tall guys having issues with the bag rubbing in their Silex?
Basically, I'm too tall!
The other option I'd have is to buy a stove with a redirecting baffle so the pipe would be at the front of the stove instead of the back.
I don't want to do that though because the reviews have been mixed on the baffles performance and it would add yet another piece to the puzzle.

The LBO is up for sale in the classifieds if your interested!

Man good to know I’m about 6’3 and in the market for a SO shelter also kicking around these same options. Did you ever look into the silvertip?

I looked at the specs.
Silvertip - 8'11" diameter. 57" height.
LBO - Base has 8'2" diameter. 64" height.

Based on those two data points, I don't think you're gaining any useable space. In fact it's tighter because the LBO + Vestibule is listed as having 9'6" in length and it's taller.

So the LBO+vest is plenty long enough for us tall guys, but the stove jack location combined with where the pipe sits on the stoves makes it impossible unless you want to crawl out of your bag and around the center pole to feed the stove.

I also thought about adding line locks to the stakeouts and trying to pitch it higher, but then you wouldn't be able to seal out the draft as well.

Yeah totally I think I saw silvertip being a little lighter and cheaper and I run solo a lot so was hoping that it might work

I ordered the silex with a stove jack on Saturday. Got a shipment notification Monday morning.
I'll update when it gets here.

My Silex arrived today. I set it up in the basement and I think this going to be perfect!
With my pad and Uber lofty bag in it I had about an inch between the walls at the head and foot. My bag 6’6” long and sits on an exped 7.
The one inch is without using the guy outs that are conveniently located at the head and foot. So that gap should increase.

I had seen several reviewers comment about how unusually spacious the Silex is for its dimensions.
I can confirm they were right! I’m 6’2” tall and I feel like I have more room in the Silex than I did in the LBO+vestibule!
The interior is really something you need to experience, words don’t really do it justice. Photos offer worse perspective.

Anyways, all you tall folks, if you decide to give it a try, I think you’ll enjoy it!

Alright here are some photos. Let me know if you want to see another angle.
The distance between the two cones is about 48 inches.
The bag in the photos has 12 to 13 inches of loft and is about 6’8” long.
The pad is 3.75” high.
I figured out why this thing doesn’t photo worth a crap. Because of the zipperless design, when you open the door you still have a drape of fabric that blocks the view of the top by about 15 inches. That fact coupled with its geometry yields crap photos!

The fact that there didn't seem to be any coming up for sale is actually what made me more confident about giving it a try!

I don't get the Silex. The Eolus is bigger at such a small weight penalty. If room was a concern why not that one?

The obvious reason for me, was that I wanted a stove jack.
I also like the smaller foot print.
I also have no interest in sharing a small tent with anyone (my wife doesn't camp or hunt), so for shelters in the 1 to 2 man range, I'm only looking for my own comfort.

The other thing I like about the Silex over the Eolis for one person is the ease of access to every corner of the tent. There is a lot of room to spread gear out yet all of it is at arms reach.

When I had the LBO+Vestibule, gear was certainly spread out, but I was on my hands and knees reaching around for things. That's fine in the early months, but I only rifle hunt.
