Just like the title says,
If I were to sell a rifle to a Canada resident, how do I go about shipping it there or transferring?
Is it legal, I assume I must use a FFL dealer here as well?

Not legal unless you “import” the rifle. Some shops will do this for around 200 CAD and many weeks of your time.

Sell it in the US and make your life easier.

It is best to use a third party, the two easiest ways are with prophet river firearms and aztech armoury. They both have an ffl on the south side and more or less import the rifle to themselves and then sell it to the individual in canada. As noted it's about $200-$250 and can take a few months, but can save some cash considering how much we get gouged up here.
I've purchased a custom 9.3x62 off a fellow on 24hr campfire through aztech and it went smoothly. Another rifle was lost in the mail through prophet river, but that was after it cleared the importing stage of the game, so not their fault at all.
Edit- Canadian perspective, we appreciate the trouble if you're willing, but understand it's a pain in the behind to jump through the additional hoops

I’ve decided against it because of all laws and criteria that need attention.
