Shipping Caribou Antlers from Fairbanks

I have two tags so there is a possibility of having two sets of antlers to bring home to Illinois. Alaska Airlines has on their web site that the limit is one set of antlers each. Anyone try splitting the antlers and taping two sets together? If that is not possible what is the best way to ship antlers from Fairbanks?

I put a shed on my friend's rack. No problems. If you were going the skull cap route you could probably put them together. If going euro mount (probably too late) AK air known shipper would be my suggestion to ship additional.

Stack them together and wrap them up as one set. If you are splitting them in half, should be much easier.

We stacked them together. Covered tips with cardboard and Bubble wrapped. My buddies went right on through while I waited outside by the vehicle. I was checked in by a new employee who had never checked antlers before. It took some persuading that It was ok but In the end, they went on the plane.
