Shiras moose score?

Stopped by my buddy’s place today, who’s a taxidermist, and a guy was picking up his Shiras moose horns that he shot this year in WY. I’m not a moose guy, but this thing is big, what do you think it’ll score? He was told by the locals out there that’s world class and should score high in the books.

Definitely a dandy Shiras. Should score well.

I saw a Shiras last night at my buddy’s place who does euros. It was killed in N Colorado. It had 17 points on one side.

Points definitely add up quick

I'm no moose expert but I help a buddy with his Idaho moose hunt this year. Never saw anything close to that large. The development of his right palm is huge. Score is heavily influenced by the palm geometry. Length of points stemming from the palm mean nothing. Number of points does matter. A book shiras needs at least a double brow. The palm includes brow portion if it has more than one time. Which this one does. And it has brow length. I assume the greatest spread is 45inch or more. I gotta believe this one reaches all time.

He said when they came off the mountain there was a row of trucks waiting to see it. The guide that shot the #1 moose in Wyoming last year was there and said it was way bigger than his.

I have shot bulls all my life. That’s a pretty nice one. Shot my first cow this year. Will never apply for anything else ever again. They taste the best!
