Because it’s Independence Day weekend and King George tucked tail and went back to the Island ( I can crap talk because both sides of my family are from the Island) we broke out the ARs and slung some lead and copper down range.

First upper I built with a DPMS MK12 barrel. Stainless and Teflon coated. Yeah I posted it on another site.

I went 20 for 20 as fast as I could pull the trigger on steel that’s less than torso size.

Took the daughter out today with a Roscoe 16” M4. She went 5 for 5 and left because I didn’t have a run and gun steel closer.

Mama went 4 of 5 with a mil spec trigger and a PSA Freedom Pencil Barrel. She used my MK12 gun and went 4 of 5 and pulled a shot that should have been a gimme and she remarked that it was easier with my gun by a large margin. More relaxed.

Improvise with what you have and get off the bench and bipods. Normally I shoot off of plows, hay rakes and wagons, tractors, fence posts, round bales, trees…you get the idea.

Crappy ammo and mediocre barrels will get the job done. Practice practice practice.

Guns are 100% what the founders had in mind. See what John Adams said to his wife (the 2nd is when the CC voted on independence):

But the Day is past. The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America.

I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.

Pretty much says it all.
