I don't have the blessing of living all to near places that make the big bucks like so many of you guys have.

However, being a total n00b starting in 2014... in 1yr and 13 days from when I started I was able to harvest my 1st one. I was able so far to harvest 3 (2 rifle, 1 bow) from THEE lowest success rate zone in CA (D15). So at least there's that. 2018? Arrow just over the back of one. 2019? skunked, but did manage to get a Bobcat on last day of deer season (consolation prize), before my stupid state banned taking them.

This has got to be the studliest toad of a body I've ever seen in pics! What are you guys feeding them up there??
I agree! I was very surprised when I came up on him after the shot. Especially the deers neck, it was by far the biggest I had ever seen on a buck in the rut. Funny thing is, this deer was not within 10 miles of an ag field. We did have a big sweet clover year, however. Was a lot of feed around plus a wet spring, so good conditions for them to put on some weight.
