Seriously kicking around an early DIY Sitka Blacktail hunt in 2023 with my longbow. A bit of a bucket list animal for me. Would probably fly in given an August hunt.
Curious if anyone has any fairly recent info you are willing to share…such as who you which you would have spoken with prior to the trips, who you flew with, any freezers you may have used prior to shipping meat, logistical challenges out of Ketchikan/POW/Kodiak, bear fence rentals(?) if in Kodiak, any booking deadlines you may have been tripped up on, gear you loved/hated or wish you had in the trip, major mistakes that may impact safety and harvest success, etc.
I have been to Alaska several times and I am not looking for your spot…just trying to dial in logistics better to help with longbow success. PM’s or a response to this post is welcome.
