I bought a Mountain Jacket last year and loved it.

It worked great for summer trips here in MT. It was money also for the first week of September for the early mornings.

But I'm interested in the Flash Pull Over or the Timberline. I'd ditch the rain jacket if the odds of rain aren't bad.

I'd guess the Flash is more of a Summer Sept piece while the Timberline is for colder work?

Should I just get a '19 Mountain or get the Flash for early work?

I have a flash and a 2018 mountain jacket. Not sure about the 2019 updates on the mountain or the timberline.

The mountain and flash are different garments. I haven’t spent a ton of time in each but here are some initial impressions.

- Less stretch and breathability to the flash.
- The flash is louder. Mine is new and it kind of crinkles a bit but I expect it to soften up and quiet down with a wash and a bit of wearing.
- hood vs no hood
- I think the mountain will shed a little moisture. I bought the flash as an intermediate step between a soft shell like my mountain or jet stream and a full rain top.
