I'm heading to Africa in a few months and taking my bow. I wasn't comfortable just strapping it down to the bottom of the Sitka Nomad for travel, so I got busy.
First I sourced some 2 1/2" closed cell foam from Rockler. Great prices and easy on the shipping.

I learned a while ago that a quick trick for cutting foam is to use an electric carving knife. This was $18 on Amazon. I also use a silver sharpie to draw my outlines.

There is a rod down the middle of the bag to provide structural support and stow the handle. There are mounts on both ends that require you to contour the foam for the bottom layer.
Harbor Freight fastener box and an arrow holder fit there

The final product with plenty of room for clothes. There's even room in the first layer for small clothes. We'll see how it does.

Did you pack anything else in the bag too? That’s what my dad used to do when he traveled for hunts (he was too cheap to check another bag).
