What do you guys do if you have an extremely slow barrel. Heres the deal. I have a model 70 in 300 wsm with 400 plus rounds through it that i for the life of me can not get any speed out of it shoots very tight groups but to the tune of 3020-3024 fps with a 165 grain bullet and thats .5 grain below where i hit pretty stiff pressure. I have tried 6 different bullet weights 7 different factory options and every powder known and unknown for the 300 wsm. im about at a loss i would love to see this rifle speed up but i cant get it to do it. So do you re-barrel it and try something different? suck it up and shoot it because it is shooting .28 if i do my part. open to thoughts here. what would you do.

.28 is pretty sweet................. would you would rather miss faster? grin

FWIW, I have more than a few buddies that have been very disappointed with customs that don't shoot nearly that well.

I wouldnt call that crazy slow by any means. Besides at that accuracy I wouldnt bat an eye. Shoot with confidence and dont over think it!!

Depending on what you are hunting its plenty big enough. I've shot elk with 165gr and 200gr both accubonds in a 300. All died the same Just make sure you choose a quality bullet on the bigger critters!
