I was looking at my spotter (vortex viper hd) and was curious what the heck would I ever use this piccatiny rail for?? I have always wanted to put my binos and spotter together without spending several hundred dollars. Then it hit me. I drilled and tapped the piccatiny rail for 1/4 X 20 threads. Bought a vortex bino tripod adapter. Bought a couple wing nuts and a piece of 1/4" all thread rod and pieced it all together. Pics are bad but you get the idea.

Large field of view through the binos for covering obvious large locations. Picking apart small details with spotter. Stability with binos and spotter simultaneously. Easily mount/unmount binos.

Thanks loner, I plan to use some heat shrink and cover the exposed all thread rod.

All in all it weighs next to nothing and is pretty handy.
