I have an incredibly old Sony w350. I'm looking at upgrading to a new camera. Mostly looking at the hx80 and the rx100 ( I, II, or III) trying to stay around 300 bucks or so. Does the hx80 hold it's own against the older model rx100's for still shots and light video use?
Thanks.

The HX80 is the best in its class. It has a 30x zoom and a viewfinder as well as im age stabilization. Zeiss lens as well. The RX100 series has a slightly larger sensor. That will give you better quality images depending on what you are doing with them. The RX line has faster lenses allowing more light in BUT only approx a 4x optical zoom. Not ideal for wildlife photography at all
Video on both are good
There are great rebates now on the HX80 right now as well.
