I’ll be going out archery antelope hunting this fall in South Dakota again. Plan is to get out July/early August to setup ground blinds and trail cameras. Anyone from South Dakota or elsewhere wanting to join?!

I've been debating another archery hunt if I don't draw rifle.

Sitting water is effective but it sucks!! Don't be afraid to try spot and stalk. There is a lot more terrain and contour on the prairie than you think. They are homebodies and don't like to leave an area. You have to push them really hard to get them to leave. If they do leave they will return shortly.

They have a short memory. You blow a stalk give them 20 min and start again.

Bring leather gloves and knee pads with hard plastic caps. There is a lot of cactus in antelope country. You'll only get into it once. Bring tweezers in your day pack.

sitting water is effective, but it is sooo boring. Go out in September with a juvenile buck decoy... that is effective and an absolute blast!
