We will be doing a black tail hunt in southeast Alaska from November 1-8th. We will be doing hunting from a remote cabin and using the boat to hunt different places. The cabin will have wood heating. I am wondering what kind of clothing to bring. I was plaining on bringing.

Marino base layers top and bottom
A light pair of pains (kuiu Teton) and a thicker pair (Sitka timberline).
Synthetic puffy pants
Rain gear 1 set breathable, 1 set HH impertech.
Fleece jacket
Synthetic and down puffy jacket.
I’m also bringing 2-4 pair of socks (liner and thicker sock.
Footwear will be zamberlan boots and insulated rubber boots.

I’m really wondering what kind of gloves to bring.

Please let me know if there is anything you would add or substitute.
Thanks

I probably wouldn’t bring the down jacket.
Everything else looks good.

Merino takes a long time to dry.
I think two sets of rain gear is a great choice.
Synthetic insulation will be your friend
I’d guess you’ll be wearing merino bottoms and rain pant over the top of your base layer more often than not.

I know youre probably back already but the best gloves we used were the orange rubber atlas gloves and we both brought 2 extra liners to use inside so you can switch and dry them out daily. I brought 3 different pairs of gloves and i only wore those for our trip to kodiak this year. Very warm, waterproof and the orange rubber glove slips off quick so you can shoot comfortably with the liner glove.
